Super Danganronpa 2x2 Special Trial Version (スーパーダンガンロンパ２×２ Special Trial Version) is the demo of Danganronpa 2x2 available exclusively at the Danganronpa 15th Anniversary Festival event held on November 29, 2025.

About

To celebrate the franchise's 15th anniversary, a large-scale, in-person fan-participation event was held at Bellesalle Tokyo Nihonbashi on November 29, 2025. The event was announced on September 12, 2025, which also confirmed that the first and exclusive playable demo for Danganronpa 2x2 would take place at the event. Attending fans have the opportunity to take turns playing the full version of the demo at the event, while the shortened version is showcased online through the event's livestream. On December 23, 2025, Spike Chunsoft livestreamed the demo with English subtitles.

Plot

The demo features half of the main cast of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, which includes two mascots Monokuma and Monomi and the students Byakuya Togami, Chiaki Nanami, Gundham Tanaka, Ibuki Mioda, Nagito Komaeda, and Peko Pekoyama. Hajime Hinata reprises his role as the protagonist, while Yasuhiro Hagakure, a guest character from Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, returns as the victim in the demo, similar to his appearance in Danganronpa 1 (Trial Version) and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (Demo Version).

In the livestream version, the demo immediately starts with the students discovering Yasuhiro's body, someone whose identity they are unaware of, followed by a swift investigation section. Though still in distraught, Mikan discovered a blood splatter on the crate behind Yasuhiro's body while performing an autopsy, something that Hajime speculated as a dying message.

Afterward, Peko revealed that the group was supposed to attend an event at the beach, leading Hajime to confront Ibuki, who had headed there before anyone else. She confirms that she did, and had tried to enter the boathouse, the crime scene, but claimed that it was locked. Hajime also learns from Byakuya that the body discovery announcement only plays when three or more innocent students discover a body. He finds it odd that the announcement played immediately after only him and Nagito found it. The investigation then concludes, immediately followed by a Nonstop Debate segment in the Class Trial.

During the class trial, Mikan estimates that the murder weapon was a sharp object, and Chiaki suggested that it might have been a kitchen knife. Chiaki's suggestion alerted Hajime as Chiaki wasn't supposed to know that information yet and asked her how she knew. Before Chiaki could explain herself, Monokuma abruptly ends the class trial and warns the player that the trial version does not reflect the contents of the main game.
