D.I.C.E.[]

Organization / Status: Unknown
DICE Logo D.I.C.E. (DICE in the original Japanese) is a group of pranksters led by Kokichi Oma, mentioned and briefly shown in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The group is made up of ten members, with seven boys and three girls.

D.I.C.E. is a small group led by Kokichi, supposedly all of them high school aged or younger. For Kokichi, the group is like a family to him, and he cares about them deeply.

All of them wear clothing similar to Kokichi's: white suits resembling straitjackets and checkered scarfs, though Kokichi also seems to have a dark flowing cloak and a leather peaked hat to show his leadership. They also wear different, mostly white clown masks as a symbol of their group and to hide their identities.

Kokichi's Research Lab is heavily based on D.I.C.E., stated to resemble a stereotypical evil villain's lair yet having lots of comical items, and even having their logo displayed. The place includes various faux weaponry used for pranks, like handcuffs, empty suitcases, gas masks, and two-way radios. There are also lots of disguises of various colors, including matching shoes and suits, wigs and various glasses such as ordinary glasses, sunglasses, monocles, lorgnettes, and Groucho glasses, as well as fake mustaches. There are also clown masks belonging to the members of the group.

Even though Kokichi claimed that he leads a huge evil secret society, D.I.C.E. is actually just a small group who commit "laughable crimes" such as mild pranks, vandalism and petty theft. Their only motive appears to be to have fun and their most important rule is to not kill anybody.

Monokuma's Motive Video with Important Loved Ones for Kokichi shows the other members of D.I.C.E., imprisoned, beaten, and bloody, to try to encourage Kokichi to murder in the Killing School Semester. What happened to them afterwards is unknown.

However, due to the fictional reality of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, it is unknown if D.I.C.E. actually exists or is simply a fabricated memory.

Trivia:
  • D.I.C.E has 10 members including Kokichi himself.
  • D.I.C.E. could be a reference to the animated television series D.I.C.E. (DNA Integrated Cybernetic Enterprises), in which the main characters are an organization run by children, specifically orphans. The series includes a villainous B-DICE organization, which tries to discredit DICE by posing as DICE members, and has a clown and poker motif.

Kaito Momota's Grandparents[]

Danganronpa V3 CG - Kaito Momota's Motive Video (English) (3)
Please...live on. For our sake, too.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Kaito Momota's grandparents are seen in his motive video, encouraging their grandson to stay alive. According to the video, they later suffered an "unfortunate accident". Kaito would sometimes visit his grandfather's house and search for treasure in his warehouse.

Because it was revealed that all Flashback Lights' contents are mere fabrications made by Team Danganronpa, it is unknown whether their involvement shown in motive video is true.

Quotes:
  • "Kaito... As long as you're alive, I don't need anything else..." (Kaito's Grandpa)
  • "No matter what happens, you must live. You must *never* give up. Please...live on. For our sake, too." (Kaito's Grandma)

Korekiyo Shinguji's Older Sister[]

Gender: Female Female / Status: Deceased / Voiced by: 日本語 Kenichi Suzumura / en-US Todd Haberkorn[1]
Korekiyo Shinguji's older sister was a sickly girl who was supposedly in a sexual, romantic relationship with her younger brother. After she died, she became Korekiyo's tulpa after his near-death experience, and her brother became a serial killer who targeted girls who met his requirements as his sister's "friends," aiming to send her one hundred. The tulpa appeared rather passive-aggressive and gave Korekiyo orders he obeyed without questions.

Korekiyo's older sister was also the one who inspired her little brother to pursue his career as an anthropologist, as she advised him to do a lot of research. She was always so sickly, and she was in and out the hospital since she was young. Due to that, she never had the chance to make friends until the day she died, explaining Korekiyo's motive to give her friends.

His sister's spirit appeared during his execution and suddenly turned against him and worked together with Monokuma to banish his spirit with salt. According to Kazutaka Kodaka, it's ambiguous whether she is the real deal or controlled by Monokuma. Assuming she was real, the exorcism was her way of expressing her anger for her brother who killed people for her sake and claimed things about her feelings. Regardless of whether she is real or not, summoning the person most dear to Korekiyo is Monokuma's pestering.[2].

Since this story was fabricated by Team Danganronpa, it is unknown if Korekiyo actually has a sister.

Professor Idabashi[]

Live like you will die tomorrow,
learn like you will live forever.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Professor Idabashi (飯田橋博士 Īdabashi hakase) is a character mentioned in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.

He is the leading expert in robotics engineering and the creator of K1-B0, who raised the robot as his own child. According to K1-B0, he is not an Ultimate, but he is very talented nevertheless.

Professor Idabashi created K1-B0, a robot with a maturing AI, to be the culmination of all of his work and research. He was meant to be a robot more human than any other robot before. Initially, K1-B0 had no knowledge nor awareness and was only capable of displaying a very narrow spectrum of human emotions. The plan was to raise and develop him like a parent would their own child. However, a few years passed, and there was no improvement in his mental state.

One day, an unpredictable accident occurred during a routine experiment. K1-B0's programming went rogue and he ended up seriously injuring the professor, but fortunately he survived. After hurting the professor, K1-B0 was suddenly overcome by immense sadness, especially considering that the First Law of Robotics said that a robot must not harm a human being. Even though K1-B0 wasn't punished for breaking that rule, he nevertheless felt sadness and blamed himself, feeling immense guilt. For the first time, he understood how it felt to feel human emotions, and at that moment his AI suddenly reset as if committing suicide. He became like a newborn infant once again, with all of his memories deleted. In his "next life", K1-B0 called it the day of his own "death" and the day of his true "birth". After learning the story from the professor, he assumed that perhaps he had wanted to be "reborn" as the professor's son once again.

K1-B0's strength was considerably weakened after the incident, described as being similar in strength to an average senior citizen. This time, his AI matured accordingly and he learned and developed as his creator raised him like his own child, with K1-B0 considering the professor his father. Eventually, the professor even sent him to attend Īdabashi Industries High School (光星国際アカデミー) and he was recognized as being an Ultimate even as a robot.

It was later revealed that most memories of the students were lies created by Team Danganronpa, who are K1-B0's true creators, meaning the professor either doesn't exist or works for Team Danganronpa.

Relationships:
K1-B0:

K1-B0 is Idabashi's creation, who he treats like his own child. In turn, K1-B0 considers the professor his father. K1-B0 respects the professor's skills, despite the fact that they aren't an Ultimate.

After becoming trapped in the killing game, K1-B0 mentions that the professor would desperately search for him if he went missing, proving how close they are.

In his Free Time Events, K1-B0 reveals that he used to have a "past life" when he didn't develop correctly, suddenly went rogue, and seriously injured the professor. He felt massive guilt and sadness as a result, his AI suddenly resetting as if committing suicide. K1-B0 has no memories of this and believes he must have wanted to be reborn as the professor's child. In his Harmonious Heart event, it's shown that K1-B0 still feels guilty and thinks the professor might resent him because of the incident.

In the bonus mode Love Across the Universe, if Shuichi offers to take his clothes off, K1-B0 is shocked by such shamefulness and mentions that even the professor hasn't seen him "naked".

Makoto[]

Danganronpa V3 CG - V3 Makoto (3)
I have a reason to live! I've got something to look forward to! That's why I'm gonna be okay!

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Makoto (誠 Makoto) is a minor character introduced in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. He is a normal talentless teenage boy and an avid fan of the reality TV show series known as Danganronpa. He is a part of the audience who watches and enjoys the killing games created by Team Danganronpa, technically making Makoto a part of the "true mastermind" of the Killing School Semester. His surname is unknown.
Makoto appears as a typical teenage boy with a pale complexion. He has brown hair cut in a bobbed cut and dull grey eyes. He normally has a very depressed expression on his face unless he is watching or talking about Danganronpa.
Much like Makoto Naegi, one of the main protagonists from the Hope's Peak Series, Makoto describes himself as a normal talentless junior high school boy who got into an "elite school". Unlike Makoto Naegi however, who praised his getting into Hope's Peak Academy because of his good luck, Makoto seems to not be overly fond of being in an elite school and said that it was nothing more than bad luck.

It is hinted that he may suffer from learning difficulties or just has no interest in school work, as he himself claims that he cannot keep up with his classmate's conversations or his teachers' lectures; as such, he thinks of himself as "empty space in the classroom." He also describes his home life as being tedious, with his parents always on his case.

Despite all these negatives, however, he claims that he is okay, as he has something to look forward to, something that gives him courage, something that he can be totally obsessed with, something that gives him the "strength to keep going". This something later turns out to be the Danganronpa reality TV show, which he admires that much, as he likes to watch it and talk a lot about it, perhaps even having an interest in participating in a Killing Game one day himself.

Quotes:
  • "Oh, I guess I should introduce myself. My name's Makoto. I don't have any talents or anything. I'm just a regular teenager..."
  • "This boring-looking person is me... See, even the way I look is normal."
  • "I'm just treated like empty space in the classroom."
  • "I have a reason to live! I've got something to look forward to! That's why I'm gonna be okay!"
  • "Thanks for the courage! Thanks for giving me something to get totally obsessed with! Thanks for strength to keep going! I'll keep on rooting for you, so please keep trying your best!"
Trivia:
  • He shares his first name with Makoto Naegi.
    • His name Makoto (誠) means "faithfulness".

Monokuma's Employee[]

Gender: Male Male / Status: Inactive
Danganronpa V3 Monokuma Sprite (Standing) (15) Monokuma's assistant is a mute Monokuma unit with patchy fur. He supposedly took Monokuma's place while he was on vacation from the Ultimate Academy, after he was usurped as headmaster by Monodam during Chapter 3. He was seen most commonly during the daytime and outside of the Academy.

The assistant helped Shuichi Saihara discover the hidden room in the Academy containing the Neo World Program. After Tenko Chabashira was murdered, the "true" Monokuma appeared and revealed that the balding version of him was just a "part-timer" he hired to take his place.

Nanokumas[]

Gender: None / Status: Inactive
DR V3 Chapter 6 - Truth Bullet (18) Nanokumas (モノチッチ Monochichi) are extremely tiny Monokuma-like robots with a resemblance to insects and cameramen, which take care of the surveillance in Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles and thus replace the usual surveillance cameras.

Acting as a hive mind, they are considered the sixth Monokuma Kub. They are siblings of Monotaro, Monosuke, Monokid, Monophanie and Monodam, notable from the yellow pacifiers in their mouths.

Nanokumas resemble the original Monokuma, being robotic bears with the white left side, as well as a red vertical stripe for a right eye, though they lack the evil grin common to all Monokuma units. Nanokumas also have yellow pacifiers, and their right side is patterned, like their siblings. Their right side is grey and has slate-blue pixel camouflage. A unique trait of theirs is that they also have insect-like wings and cameramen's equipment, such as a camera and a pair of headphones.

Due to their extremely small size, they are usually completely unnoticed by humans. The only ones able to see them were K1-B0, with his zoom function, and Gonta Gokuhara, with his 20/0.625 eyesight.

Nanokumas lack individual personalities and instead act as a hive mind. They prefer to move in swarms. Apparently, they are capable of speaking and answering questions when under a threat, though you need special equipment to hear their faint voices.

Heroes don't die! Heroes don't give up! That's why they're still alive! Because they're heroes!

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
The Unknown Kid is a boy shown in a Flashback Light sequence in Chapter 6. He found Shuichi Saihara and believed that he was a participant of The Gofer Project since he saw his and the other participants' faces in a flyer. He naively believed that the participants of the project are heroes who will save mankind from the falling meteorites.

Because it was revealed that all the Flashback Lights' contents are mere fabrications made by Team Danganronpa, it is unknown whether the boy truly exists.

The fate of humanity...rests on your shoulders.

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Makoto Naegi is the Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy, first shown in a Flashback Light sequence in Chapter 6. He is seen talking to Shuichi Saihara after his talent returned back, asking him to participate in The Gofer Project.

Because it was revealed that all Flashback Lights' contents are mere fabrications made by Team Danganronpa, it is unknown whether Makoto and Hope's Peak Academy exist in the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles Series.

Quotes:
  • "I do feel bad about this... I know how much you all wanted to run, even if it meant no longer being Ultimates... Those of you who have to live on like this might be the real victims here... But the only people who can go through with this project are you 16 who haven't been infected... The fate of humanity...rests on your shoulders."
  • "It's true that this situation you're all being forced into is harsh. So harsh...that you think it'd be better to just die. But I still want you all to live. For those of us who want to live, but can't...you 16 who *can* live are... ...Hope itself. So please... I don't want to see you give up "hope". I want you to keep hope alive..."

Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Shuichi Saihara's Friends are three students from the same high school as Shuichi. They were first shown in a memory implanted by Flashback Light in Chapter 6. They were Shuichi's supportive friends who congratulated and encouraged their friend who got selected to participate in The Gofer Project.

Because it was revealed that all Flashback Lights' contents are mere fabrications made by Team Danganronpa, it is unknown whether they truly exist.

Quotes:
  • "Hey, man...don't look so sad! You're about to go on an adventure, right?!" (Classmate 1)
  • "Shuichi, you're our pride, you know that?" (Classmate 2)
  • "Yeah, you have to do it...for us. We're leaving everything to you. (Classmate 3)

Maki's friend[]

Gender: Female Female / Status: Deceased

Maki's friend was a girl from the same orphanage as Maki. She was mentioned by her during her Free Time Events, being the major reason why she became an assassin.

She was Maki's close friend since childhood and like Maki she didn't know anything about her parents. As children, they had lots of fun together, wearing matching outfits, baking sweets and exchanging them. They talked so late into the night that they would get in trouble. They often played House with the other kids, her playing as the mom while Maki was the dad. Maki considered the time with her the happiest part of her life.

The Holy Salvation Society planned to choose Maki's friend to become an assassin, because she had more talent than Maki did. However, she was also a very sensitive and kind person who easily cried and got lonely. Worried that the assassin training would completely break her, Maki volunteered to take her place despite not knowing what was in store for her. Maki endured the horribly harsh training and was desperate to do her best, knowing that her friend would die if she was put in Maki's place.

After Maki's training was finished, she went to see her friend, only to find out that she had died. She died in a car accident saving a child, and after the initial shock Maki figured that she must have died happy knowing she had saved someone. Maki's memories of her and the rest of the orphanage continued to motivate her later in life.

It's later revealed that her friend never existed, as she was a part of Maki's fabricated memories; however, this may be another one of Tsumugi's lies.
