AS OF JUNE 2017, FANART ON USERPROFILES IS NO LONGER PERMITTED
As you have fanart on your profile, you have 1 week from the time of this warning message to either show evidence that you are the original artist, or have personal permission from the original artist to distribute it. If neither can be proven, the images will be removed. Although fanart was previously allowed, this new policy is part of our commitment to improve our relationship with community content creators and ensure their work isn't distributed without their permission. For more information, please read our updated Guidelines and Policies. Thank you.
Hello, I cleaned out some images and images redirects last night, and removed some important to your profile. The images aren't gone, all you need to do is add "FANART" to the start of the file name and they should pop back.
Hello, Admin and Bureaucrat Monollama here. I'm afraid to say the admins and I have discussed it, and we have decided to demote you, effective immediately.
The reasons being:
Responding rudely to an admin (me) when being asked to stop doing something to the detriment of the wiki. Thread here.
IGNORING an admin (Scottier) not once, but TWICE when being AGAIN told to do something, and one of those things is what I had previously warned you about. Thread 1 and Thread 2.
You of course are still welcome to edit the wiki at your leisure, but no longer be considered part of the staff or have any rights for staff.
As a final note, or a warning rather, do not re-upload other people's work or edits, such as vectors or sprite transparents or anything like that. Doing so again will result in a suspension from the wiki.
Mmk. Been planning to leave the wiki for a while now anyway. Sorry for bothering you admins. See you around.
P.S. When I uploaded other people's work, I gave them credit. So why am I in trouble for that??? Furthermore, I did resize the images this time, and so far, nobody's explained to me why it's been removed.
Credit isn't enough for edited work, such as the transparent sprites of Kaede and Shuichi you re-uploaded for their sidebars. That was Gamma's sprite and she's requested many times to the staff to not allow re-uploads of said work and we honor that. You should of been warned far earlier on this matter but that was my mistake.
And as for resizing... we have told you to stop doing that. You don't have the experience for resizing work of any degree from the examples we've seen. The quality over all goes down and we're trying to move away from that sort of thing on the wiki.
It was because of that not the best quality ^ + re-upload they were removed.
I'm going to have to firmly ask that you please stop increasing the image size on images that you consider to be low resolution. Doing so decreases the image quality dramatically. You have already been asked to do this by Monollama on April 11, but you continued to increase the filesize on the Misaki Asano transparent in the character's sidebar on April 21, and again when replacing this image with a different one on April 27, which you also resized despite the Makoto sprite already being high resolution. I would have been in contact sooner, but only just became aware of the fact you were continuing to do this after your previous warning.
If an actual higher resolution image size cannot be found, images are to be left at the resolution they were to begin with. Transparent images, particularly in sidebars, are to be kept in the original resolution of the image they were taken from, except in the instance where there needs to be whitespace added around the outside to make them a square for sidebar consistancy. There is no reason for images to be increased to over 2000px in diameter, it does not make an image high resolution, it does the opposite, decreasing the amount of detail that is actually visible. While I appreciate that you are trying to help, you've been asked to stop by an Admin and continued to do so, and so this is an official warning. Continuing to increase image sizes unnecessarily after this warning will result in a suspension and possible demotion if this continues.
I get what you mean about the transparent symbols, however, it's going to be really difficult and annoying to track which ones need a vector without having the ones that are currently vectorised be live on the page (so at this point, just Sayaka's), without running a private sandbox project for it, which i'm concerned may shut out casual submitters. I'm planning on doing the DR1 vectors as a side project, but it'll be slow and occasional.
Hi Sweet! I want to first thank you for cleaning up and updating the side bar images, we are in sore need of those and have been for quite awhile. However I do ask that you not resize them larger. The quality goes down greatly and overall makes them look bad. :(
I see you are still resizing them which.. again I ask you not do that. The quality is still poor when resized larger, and overall ruins the image. The sidebar images do not need resizing, they're fine at their normal size.
Just look at them full sized on the wiki, they're grainy and the edges are awful and overall just look bad.
If you feel they REALLY need to be resized, then use waifu2x to do so, or look up how to resize properly on Google for photoshop or whatever program you are using.
Hi Sweet, so i have added you a template in the staff page created by Admin Scottie, you can feel free to edit your template however you like, i already added your profile picture and background colors that you may like. You can change it however you like to. Since the page is locked, just contact me or another admin to unlock it.
Hey! I realise you're on semi-hiatus, but in doing some of the character page revamp I did a couple of vectors of Sayaka's school logos, then remembered you had a bunch of them in your sandbox. They're not the neatest things in the world, but I did what I could. The weird "errors" in Sayaka's are part of the actual pic, so I didn't know whether to correct them or not.
It's not symmetrical is the main thing, like the left hand thing has a lump in it at the top but the right one doesn't, the curves aren't in the same place, etc. I just traced it as best I could, but did it as it appeared in the picture.
Still, it's better than a grainy low res jpg is the main thing!
