Fujiko Yamada

Gender: Female Female / Status: Alive
Fujiko Yamada Fujiko Yamada (山田 富士子, Yamada Fujiko) is a character featured in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. She is a manga artist and a Target for the Warriors of Hope's Demon Hunting.

Fujiko is the older sister of Hifumi Yamada and the closest person to him, which is why she became a Captive for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc first motive. Her current location is around the Towa Integrated Book Store.

Fujiko is a very small, chubby girl. She looks younger than she is and her real age is a mystery.

She has long, dark brown hair, with a small ahoge on top, which she ties in two big sidebuns; making her hairdo look very similar to her brother's when viewed from the front. She has huge brown eyes, thick eyebrows, a small cat-like smile (just like her brother), and odd swirl patterns on her cheeks. She wears a long sleeved school girl uniform along with black tights and white slip ons.

Fujiko is a kind and tender girl. She is also cowardly and easy to manipulate if her life is on the line, as stated by the Warriors of Hope in their Hit List entry of her. Since she is a very skilled manga artist, they plan to force her to draw comics of themselves before killing her.

Fujiko is apparently perverted, like her brother, and loves to draw pictures of naked boys. She can also draw food in a very detailed manner that makes them look extremely delicious to readers.

Like her brother, Fujiko is apparently a published independent release manga artist of a masterpiece four-panel series called Tara☆Spa!

After Hifumi is sent to Hope's Peak Academy, she continued on with her life. Later, she was captured by the Ultimate Despair and became a Captive for Monokuma's first motive in the Mutual Killing incident of Class 78th. She was apparently enclosed in an apartment just like the other Captives.

She was later freed, only to become one of the people targeted by the Warriors of Hope. She hides in the Towa City Integrated Book Store, along with Fuhito Kirigiri.

Relationships:

Hifumi Yamada: Fujiko is both Hifumi's older sister and partner in fanfic and doujin creation. She is the closest person to Hifumi and thus, captured by Junko Enoshima as her brother's captive.

Creation and Development:

As shown in the official artbook of Danganronpa Another Episode, Fujiko was originally planned to be a very different kind of character.

She is described as "Hifumi Yamada's older sister, though not from the same mother, more of an older sister-in-law". She was a tall and slender, much more adult-like girl with a sailor uniform, glasses, long bright white twin-tails, a big forehead and big, darker eyebrows. She had "a natural gift of bullying" and she was a sadist. She had a habit of physically abusing her younger brother and she laughed with a strange, crooked expression. She was formerly named to be a manga artist and she is considered a Ultimate Grade "S" Perverted BDSM Bully.

The character was later drastically changed to be more of a tender type, and more similar to her brother. The finalized design seems to have originated from an early beta design for Kanon Nakajima.

The beta Fujiko's hairstyle and bullying nature were inherited to Kotoko Utsugi.

Trivia:
  • Fujiko's name is a clear reference to Doraemon creator duo's pen name, Fujiko Fujio. Like Fujiko's works, Doraemon is well-liked by children.
  • Tara☆Spa! is likely a reference to the comedy manga Lucky☆Star by Kagami Yoshimizu, which is also a four-panel manga.
  • Fujiko's pen name for her book series is "Teacher Second Fry".

Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg

Gender: Male Male / Status: Alive
Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg Hit List Photo Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg (グランボアシェリ・ルーデンベルク Guranboasheri Rūdenberuku) is a character featured in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. He is a Target for the Warriors of Hope's Demon Hunting.

He was Celestia Ludenberg's pet cat and was the most closest to her, which is why he became a Captive for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc first motive. The Warriors of Hope believed his true form is a large Demon who can eat a kid in one gulp, and that he's only mimicking the shape of a cat. His usual location is around the Towa Community Center.

Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg is a large, fat cat with dark gray fur and green eyes as well as white tipped paws. He wears a fancy frilled collar around his neck and a rather small bow on his tail. His expression is somewhat dopey, with his eyes half-lidded, his tongue sticking out and the shape of his mouth resembling a smile.

Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg is said to have a bad and arrogant personality, similar to his owner. He is described as mean-mannered and possessing a rotten soul, despite his cute appearance, but it's somewhat unclear how accurate this is as the Warriors of Hope view him as a monstrous Demon mimicking the appearance of a cute cat.

He is very spoiled and pampered by his owner, but still is extremely loyal to her. It's implied that he is quite lazy due to his spoiled life, as he apparently has his own fancy chair and his expression is constantly spaced out. As a spoiled pet, he is also very picky and doesn't eat just any kind of cat food—you can lure him out only with his favorite Gyoza dish, much like to his owner, Celestia.

History:

Prior To The Tragedy:

Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg used to be Celestia's pet cat. She enjoyed his company and pampered him, and most likely she was planning on having him with her in her dream mansion.

After Celestia left to the Hope's Peak Academy, Grand Bois Chéri was most likely left in the hands of someone close to Celestia.

During The Tragedy:

Grand Bois Chéri was captured by the Ultimate Despair and became a Captive for Monokuma's first motive in the Mutual Killing incident of Class 78. He was apparently enclosed in an apartment just like the other Captives. He was later freed, only to become one of the Warriors of Hope's Targets in Towa City.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls:

After becoming a Target, Grand Bois Chéri hides in the Towa Community Center.

Later on after Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa show Hiroko Hagakure Grand Bois Chéri's Hit List entry, she promises to send men to rescue him, even if he is a cat. Toko realizes whose pet Grand Bois Chéri is and remarks that he doesn't have an owner to return to.

Relationships:

Celestia Ludenberg Grand Bois Chéri Ludenberg is Celestia's pet cat. Grand Bois Chéri loves his owner, and is pampered by her often. Celestia loves her cat dearly, confirmed by the fact that he became a Captive.

Trivia:
  • His name means literally "Darling Great Wood" in French.
  • He hates dry cat food.
  • He is named after a popular brand of black tea.
  • In Grand Bois' Hit list entry the Warriors of Hope mention reducing him to ashes with fire attacks (burning him) after finding him, referencing Celestia's execution and how she was burned at the stake.

Hiroko Hagakure

Kameko

Gender: Female Female / Status: Alive
Kameko Kameko (カメ子 Kameko) is a character featured in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. She is a Target for the Warriors of Hope's Demon Hunting.

Kameko is a stinkbug that belongs to Toko Fukawa and was the closest to her, which is why she became a Captive for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc first motive. The Warriors of Hope believe that Kameko is a magical shapeshifting Demon that only mimics the shape of a stink bug. Her usual location is unknown.

Kameko is stated to be extremely weak and acts just like her owner. She has the ability to sense danger and loves her owner deeply. Toko used to believe that Kameko is a special insect that can understand her feelings, but she is just an ordinary insect.

History:

Prior to The Tragedy:

Kameko was a stinkbug found by Toko when she was younger. Toko is the only one able to stand her smell and Kameko was the only one who constantly hung around Toko. Due to having no other friends, Toko got extremely close with Kameko and believed that the bug was the only one able to understand her feelings.

After Toko left for Hope's Peak Academy, Kameko most likely stayed behind with Toko's parents.

During The Tragedy: Kameko was captured by the Ultimate Despair and became a Captive for Monokuma's first motive in the Mutual Killing incident of Class 78. She was apparently enclosed somewhere just like the other Captives.

She was later freed, only to become one of the Warriors of Hope's Targets in Towa City.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls: After becoming a Target, Kameko wanders around frequently so her usually hiding spot is unknown.

Toko and Komaru Naegi later find her Hit List entry and Toko starts to cry in relief when she finds out that Kameko is still alive. Komaru and Hiroko Hagakure explain to her that Kameko is a normal bug and thus unable to understand her feelings. Toko accepts this but nevertheless, misses her pet a lot and wishes to see her again.

Relationships:

Toko Fukawa: Toko is Kameko's owner. Kameko appears to love her owner, hanging around her often. Toko is also the only one able to stand Kameko's horrible stench.

When Kameko's "Hit List" entry is discussed with Hiroko, Toko gets unusually emotional, showing just how strongly she cared for the bug. She is offended when Kameko is called a bug and she calls Kameko her dear insect friend, "a friendsect". She believes that Kameko is a special insect that can understand her feelings, but Hiroko and Komaru make her realize that Kameko is just a normal bug. Nevertheless, Toko misses her pet dearly and wishes to see her again.

Warriors of Hope: Kameko is a Target for the Warriors of Hope. They see her as a Demon target and will do anything to kill her. Kameko appears to know that the Warriors of Hope are enemies and will release her poisonous gas to protect herself.

Trivia:
  • Kameko is part of the reason why Toko smells bad all the time. Even when both Kameko and Toko are far apart, Kameko's gas is so potent that it lingers around Toko.
  • Kameko is most likely a Brown marmorated stink bug.
  • It is unknown what Kameko's relationship with Genocide Jack is.
  • Kameko's name is derived from "kamemushi" (カメムシ; lit. "turtle bug"), which is the Japanese term for stink bug.

Takaaki Ishimaru

Gender: Male Male / Status: Alive
Takaaki Ishimaru Hit List Photo Takaaki Ishimaru (石丸 高秋 Ishimaru Takāki) is a character who appears in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. He is a former policeman and a Target for the Warriors of Hope's Demon Hunting.

Takaaki is the son of infamous Toranosuke Ishimaru. He is also the father of Kiyotaka Ishimaru and the closest person to him, which is why he became a Captive for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc first motive. He is apparently hiding in the Towa Memorial Science Hall.

Takaaki has thick eyebrows like his son, Kiyotaka. He also has graying hair and a faint goatee. He wears what appears to be a black trench coat over a white buttoned shirt that also includes a tie. He also wears black pants and brown slip-ons. His pale complexion, gaunt face and the discoloration underneath his eyes imply that he is somewhat ill.

Takaaki appears to be a very serious man. He is not well either mentally or physically and appears to not feel sympathy as he carries a gun with him, intending to kill the Warriors of Hope. He is extremely nervous around others, due to his father's reputation.

The creators describe him as similar to his son - if one makes a wrong move, they will experience the madness that is his critical sense of justice.

History:

Prior to the Tragedy:

Takaaki's father was the Prime Minister of Japan, but he was forced to step down after a corruption scandal. As a result, the Ishimaru family was left mistrusted and in huge debts.

Takaaki worked as a police officer to help support his family, though people complained about letting the son of a criminal join the legal force. After his father died and his son Taka left for Hope's Peak Academy, Takaaki continued his job and daily life as a police officer in the Apparition Kingdom.

During the Tragedy: Takaaki was captured by the Ultimate Despair and became a Captive for Monokuma's first motive in the Mutual Killing incident of Class 78. He was apparently enclosed in an apartment just like the other Captives.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls: Takaaki was later freed, only to become one of the people targeted by the Warriors of Hope in Towa City. Unlike the other targets, Takaaki actually carries a gun with him, intending to kill the Warriors of Hope and the Monokuma Kids.

To protect himself from them he carries a gun around and he hides in the Towa Memorial Science Hall. His Hit List card was found by Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa in the hotel second floor in Chapter 1.

Later on after Komaru and Toko show Hiroko Hagakure the entry, she promises to send men to rescue Takaaki immediately.

Relationships:

Kiyotaka Ishimaru Taka is Takaaki's son. Takaaki seems to love his son deeply. Taka also loves his dad dearly, confirmed by the fact that Takaaki became a Captive.

Trivia:
  • Taka's given name ends with the kanji 夏 ka, meaning “summer”. Similarly, Takaaki's given name ends with 秋 aki, which means "autumn".
  • The kanji readings for his last name are: 石 (Ishi) - Stone and 丸 (Maru) - Circle, though can also be read as meaning “Perfection”, which may reference to his father's position.
  • Takaaki is ticklish on his sides.

Takemichi Yukimaru

Gender: Male Male / Status: Alive
Takemichi Yukimaru Takemichi Yukimaru (雪丸 竹道 Yukimaru Takemichi) is a character featured in Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. He is a Target for the Warriors of Hope's Demon Hunting.

Takemichi is the head of the elite guard of The Crazy Diamonds, Mondo Owada's biker gang. He was the closest person to Mondo, which is why he became a Captive for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc first motive.

Takemichi is a short teenage boy with spiky hair that extends out in the front. He wears a black student uniform (which the Warriors of Hope assume is magical). He is described as being very good-looking by Hiroko Hagakure.

Takemichi is a rather stubborn teenager with "a head as hard as metal". He is described as very inflexible and prideful, indicating that the Warriors of Hope may have found talking with him frustrating or difficult.

The official artbook also notes that Takemichi is "highly intelligent and coolheaded" [1], and he uses these traits as well as his talent to support Mondo as a bodyguard and calms down his more impulsive behavior. He is stated to do his work amazingly well and it's implied he is very loyal.

Though his physique isn't that great, with him being notably short, Takemichi's fighting spirit makes him rather strong. Though it is said he is not interested in "female Demons", many girls seem to like him and he even has a fan club.

History:

Prior to The Tragedy:

Takemichi was once the head of the elite guard of the Crazy Diamonds. He was entirely faithful to both Owada Siblings, and he, apparently, became the closest person to Mondo after his brother died. He is stated to be a very skilled bodyguard who also helped his leader with his temper.

After Mondo left to Hope's Peak Academy, Takemichi stayed with the gang. It is implied that Mondo made him the interim leader of the gang while he was at the academy.

During The Tragedy:

Later, Takemichi was captured by the Ultimate Despair and became a Captive for Monokuma's first motive in the Class 78's Killing School Life. He was apparently enclosed in an apartment just like the other Captives.

He was later freed, only to become one of the people targeted by the Warriors of Hope.

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls:

After becoming a Target, Takemichi hid near the Towa Library. When Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa give his entry to Hiroko, she states she'll send men to save him, commenting how she would save him herself if she were ten years younger.

It's implied he is rescued along with the other Captives by the game's end.

Relationships:

Mondo Owada:

Takemichi was in Mondo's biker gang, being the head of the elite guard of the Crazy Diamonds. He was very close with Mondo, confirmed by the fact that he became a Captive. In the official artwork, the illustrator comments that Takemichi was designed to be Mondo's Junior.

Takemichi was also Mondo's bodyguard and it's stated that he did his job amazingly well. Furthermore, his more coolheaded nature helped Mondo with his more impulsive nature.[2]

Takemichi is mentioned by Mondo in Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony's non-canon bonus mode Ultimate Talent Development Plan, as he explains to Kiyotaka that he had to stay up late to talk with his right hand guy who was having a rough time.

Trivia:
  • Takemichi (竹道) means "bamboo path", and Yukimaru (雪丸) means "circle of snow". His full name could be interpreted as "a bamboo path in a circle of snow".

Sayaka Maizono's Sister

Sonia-Nevermind-Pixel-for-Jpn-Template The section below is based on non-localized content only available in Japanese.

As such, this information is based on fan-contributed translation.

Mukuro Ikusaba School Mode Pixel Animated 03 SCRAPPED CONTENT

This article is about content that never made it out of development, and as such, is non-canonical.

Gender: Female Female / Status: Scrapped character
Maizono's Little Sister Sayaka Maizono's Sister (舞園 さやかの妹 Maizono Sayaka no imōto) is a scrapped character who appeared in the artbook for Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls.

As her name suggests, she is supposed to be the little sister of Sayaka Maizono[3] and was originally going to be used in the game as her target the Warriors of Hope are after before being replaced by Ayaka Haneyama.

She is mentioned to be a girl of good nature, originally meant to be 13 or 14 years old.[4]

Maizono has short, shoulder-length hair which curls outwards, although some pieces show two streaks of hair sticking out. Her hair is stated to be naturally the same color as Sayaka's and was intended to 'hang down' much like hers. Her facial structure was also meant to be similar to Sayaka's, making their outwards appearances similar as pointed out by the designer. Her hair is adorned by a white hair pin, which fan artists have interpreted to be a flower or a star.

She wears a long sleeved shirt accompanied by a vest jacket, and baggy culottes tied with a bow over a pair of dark tights or leggings. Her shoe wear is unclear, though it's most likely supposed to be reminiscent of Japanese indoor shoes worn in Elementary schools. She carries a small handbag with a dark, rabbit shaped mascot key-chain attached to it.

There was a secondary design featured in her artbook profile, which shows Maizono in a western-style school uniform reminiscent of Hope's Peak female uniform. This was intended to be her middle school uniform in the case her age was changed to be older. It's unknown whether that would be her finalised appearance had she been added in the game as a middle school student.

In this design, Maizono is shown to be wearing a plain, pleaded skirt which reaches her mid thigh, with a white dress shirt neatly tucked into it. Over the shirt she is shown to be wearing a blazer, accompanied by an ample bow. She's also shown to be wearing a pair of school socks which end just under her knees. The colour of the uniform is unknown due to the roughness of the sketch, but could be presumed as lighter than Maizono's hair, which is roughly coloured in. It's worth mentioning in that design, Maizono's cheeks are highlighted in a fashion similar to Hiyoko Saionji's.

Creator comments on her early design briefly talk about what Maizono was supposed to be like.

She was intended to be very headstrong about being like her big sister, implying she would've bared a strong admiration for Sayaka, most likely due to her role as a role model for her younger sibling.

She's described as 'the type that takes one step forward but ends up going one step back instead',[5] most likely meaning that because of her drive, she can end up losing herself and instead of moving forward would end up back where she had started.

It can also be understood as Maizono thinking too highly of her capabilities and trying to deal with everything on her own and consequentially being set back to the beginning. This can be considered reminiscent of the way Sayaka didn't discuss her feelings in Chapter 1 and decided to go through with her scheme to kill Leon Kuwata and frame Makoto Naegi, which in the end backfired at her.

Overall, she was intended to be a good kid with a kind personality who would be 'portrayed as a lovely character everyone would admire', once again reminiscent of Sayaka.

Reasons for Scrapping:

The reason for scrapping the character of Sayaka's sister has not been made explicitly clear, leaving the wording surrounding her ambiguous, but there are a few possible reasons.

  • During a conversation with Makoto Naegi in Chapter 1 of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Sayaka mentions having grown up with no mother and with a father who had to work until late each and every day, which is why she stayed home alone a lot. This means that according to the game's canon, Sayaka's sister either couldn't have been born or was never in contact with her, making it impossible for her to be part of the Hit List where everyone is someone very close to a character from the first game.
  • Furthermore, it's because of the loneliness that she felt while waiting for her father to come home that made Sayaka turn to watching idols on television and start looking up to them, in turn inspiring her to become one. Adding a little sister would be inconsistent to the otherwise lonely backstory of Sayaka.
  • Another reason for this can be Sayaka's motive in Chapter 1 of Danganronpa. She was pushed over the edge by a video showing her idol group lying on stage, either dead or unconscious. It's because of her deep care for the members that she was willing to conceive a plan to kill one of her classmates. Had there been a little sister character involved, Sayaka's character would be shown in a different light and seem uncaring which is very out of place for her character.
  • Lastly, the theme of Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls is intended to be the conflict between adults and children. As she was designed, Sayaka's sister couldn't have a logical placement within the game's conflict, as she would've been too young to be considered a demon and featured as a target on the Hit List.
Trivia:
  • Sayaka's sister appears to have been scrapped late in development, due to her being shown along with the other Hit List targets in their finalized appearances in the game's artbook.
  • Her age had been undecided, thus giving her two alternative designs depending on which would be the age used in the game, late elementary or early middle school.

Chihiro Fujisaki's Mother

Gender: Female Female / Status: Scrapped character
Fujisaki's mother Chihiro Fujisaki's Mother (不二咲 千尋の母) is a scrapped character who appeared in the artbook for Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. She is also mentioned in the game.

She was originally going to be used as Chihiro's captive before being replaced by her husband, Taichi Fujisaki. She is described as a "rare woman inventor". [6]

Chihiro's mother has a tall, slender figure. She wears glasses and has similar facial expressions as her son, Chihiro Fujisaki.

She has long hair, which is in a ponytail, and she always has her bag with her. She wears a jacket and has a tank top underneath it.

She is around 40 years old, but she looks very young and doesn't wear any type of make-up. [7]

Unlike her son and husband, Chihiro's mother is a sociable type. She is vigorous and notably lively around her husband. Like her family, she is apparently very intelligent. [6]

History:

Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls:

Chihiro's mother does not appear in the game and her status is unknown, however she is mentioned in her husband's note.

Relationships:

Her husband and son:

Chihiro's mother loved her husband very much and she was always notably lively around him. However, according to Taichi, she also considered him a bit unreliable. Her relationship with her son is unknown but it is assumed she loves him very much.
