Funimation is known for dubbing various Japanese series such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The studio is one of the leading distributors of anime and other foreign entertainment properties in North America alongside NIS AmericaViz MediaSentai Filmworks and Aniplex of America

Danganronpa: The Animation[]

Funimation announced that they acquired the licensing for Danganronpa: The Animation on June 28, 2013 and would be simulcasting in Funimation's official website.[1] On July 4, 2013, Funimation began airing Danganronpa: The Animation. On December 31, 2014, Funimation revealed they acquired the home video rights to Danganronpa.[2]

On April 4, 2015 at Sakura-Con, Funimation announced the English dub cast of the anime.[3] Bryce Papenbrook, the voice actor of Makoto, was the only actor to reprise his respective role for the animation. A tweet from Caitlin Glass, the voice of Kyoko for the animation, says that the dub had been recorded a year prior to the announcement.[4] The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 10, 2015.

Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School[]

On June 23, 2016, Funimation, the company which subbed and dubbed the previous Danganronpa Anime, revealed that they would air the episodes subbed.

On July 13, 2016, Funimation announced that both Future Arc and Despair Arc would be added to their Summer 2016 Broadcast Dub line-up, to be aired on August 10 and August 11, respectively. Later on Funimation comfirmed to add Hope Arc to their Simulcast as a conclusion to the Danganronpa anime.
