Danganronpa x Shiro Project:RE

Shiro Project:RE (御城プロジェクト:RE lit. "Castle Project:RE"), often abbreviated as ShiroPro:RE, is a mobile and browser-based tower defence game made by DMM Games. Players control "castle girls" - or moe gijinkas - mostly based on historical buildings from the Japanese feudal period.

From November 9th to November 23rd, 2021, ShiroPro:RE held a collaboration with Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc called Ikai-mon no Zetsubō to Kibō (異界門の絶望と希望 lit. Despair and Hope at the Cross-World Gate) featuring seven playable characters from the game as collectible units, plus a special collaboration castle called Kibougamine Gakuen (Hope's Peak Academy), who is a "castle girl" re-imagining of the Hope's Peak Academy building.

From November 8th to November 22nd, 2022, the collaboration was expanded to include a second event, featuring the characters of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. The second collaboration included all main female characters from Danganronpa 2, plus a new Despair themed skin for Kibougamine Gakuen.

From March 12th to March 25th, 2024, the collaboration was expanded to include a third event, featuring Mukuro Ikusaba.

Gameplay[]

The game takes place during Japan's Sengoku period. As the Tono, or lord, you handle the strategy of the Castles. During a mission, you will be placed in your Headquarters and will remain there for the remainder of the mission. Your health is indicated as a bar under your avatar and numerically on the top left corner. Castle Girls (城娘) are your "towers" in the game. These girls can be deployed to positions marked on the screen. Your objective is to defend your Lord with them.

The Danganronpa event "Despair and Hope at the Cross-world Gate" (異界門の絶望と希望) follows Makoto Naegi on the day of his entrance ceremony to Hope's Peak Academy. Similar to the plot of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Makoto becomes suddenly dizzy when entering the entrance hall at Hope's Peak Academy. When he wakes up, he discovered he has been transported to the Sengoku period, where Monokuma has been plotting in the world of ShiroPro:RE, along with a number of his classmates. During the event, the characters could be unlocked through the in-game gacha system, or as rewards for completing specific tasks (such as the daily log-in bonus). Makoto is not a playable character during the event, but appears during the visual-novel style events.

Kibougamine Gakuen (希望ヶ峰学園) is a special cross-over character designed specifically for ShiroPro:RE. She is a moe gijinka (anthropomorphization) "castle girl" based on Hope's Peak Academy, voiced by Rie Tanaka.

Reconstruction (城娘改築) in ShiroPro:RE is when a castle girl is upgraded to a higher rarity tier. Only castle girls can be reconstructed.
