Beginning of Killer Killer is the eighth chapter of the manga Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer. Chapter 8 was published in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine on August 9, 2016, and later re-published in Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer Volume 2 on November 9, 2016.

Summary[]

The chapter starts off with Shuji explaining how Takumi became Killer Killer, his story and how he is partially responsible for his actions. The scene skips to a younger Shuji walking on the streets, browsing the news. He seems to have stepped on something, looking down to see a younger boy's face. He attempts to apologize but the boy faints. Their relationship continues on to be established. The next scene shows them reading comics uptop the school, a minor papercut triggering Takumi's hemophobia. He states he doesn't do well with blood or gore in which Shuji attempts to change his mind when a sudden scream distracts them. Using this moment they descend down and around the corner to find a hallway of student corpses. Hoisting Takumi into a bridal carry, Shuji runs off to where the killer won't find them, locking themselves in a locker. The rest of the panicked students pour in as well as the Mukuro, the killer, and they are all slaughtered. Shuji was traumatized and Takumi was captivated with the sight of blood. Shuji states that if he hasn't forced Takumi into the locker then he wouldn't become Killer Killer. Describing the scenes in detail makes Shuji throw up. Asano tries to tell him if he really thinks that Takumi is Killer Killer, but Takumi rises up from a box behind them on a phone call, in which he is requested to move to the Foundation's 8th branch due to Ikusaba breaking out.
