Possibility of despair is the sixth chapter of the manga Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer. Chapter 6 was published in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine on August 9, 2016, and later re-published in Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer Volume 2 on November 9, 2016.

Summary[]

The chapter starts off with Asano running in search for Takumi, but an explosion on a faraway building catches her attention. She manages her way uptop the roof, finding Takumi in a hypnotic state as a result of the Pyrotechnics's mind-altering fireworks. She tries to snap him out of his daze but as a result of glancing at the fireworks, she got entranced as well. As the Pyrotechnic watches on, he is disappointed in both of them, stating that he had 'higher expectations'. He fires a firework at both of them, but Takumi evades it, having pretended to fell influence by closing his eyes. They duel it out, and finally Chikatilo is defeated by his own fireworks.

The scene then skips onto the ground level, with the rest of the Foundation members searching for the two. Sakakura attempts to ask a member to see if they've been located not before Takumi appears with an unconscious Asano in his arms, stating to 'call an ambulance'. With that, he collapses. The scene changes to both Sakakura and Munakata in an office, with Munakata praising Sakakura with his efforts he's done to attempt to uncover Killer Killer's intent. He also states that with their appearance, his Future Foundation will not crumble. Another scene changes to Asano waking up, encountering Mekuru and she states that she is sorry for lying to her, wanting to help out Sakakura's plan and trying to prove Hijirihara's innocence. Asano then leaves, opening a locker to find a bandaged Takumi inside. Kyoko appears and makes her way to him, bringing up his former classmate: Shuji Fujikawa and wants to confirm if he knows them. She then leaves and the scene finally changes to a fancy looking room, with Shuji locked in a locker with a picture of them both.
