Danganronpa 1•2 Reload (ダンガンロンパ 1・2 Reload) is a collection of the first and second games that were released on the PlayStation Vita, with several new features. NIS America also published the game on March 14, 2017 in North America and Europe on PlayStation 4 and later released on the PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility.
Background[]
On June 2013, it was announced that the PS Vita would receive a collection featuring Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, which would be released under the name Danganronpa 1•2 Reload.
It features both the first and second games but also includes higher-quality graphics, and the new School Mode and Island Mode, which act as dating simulators where the main objective is to form bonds with your fellow classmates.
In Japan, those who preordered the game received a CD that includes an unaired Dangan Radio broadcast with voice actress Megumi Ogata.[6]
In October 2016, NIS America confirmed a localization for North America and Europe, which would be released on the PlayStation 4 with a special pre-order bonus.
On July 21, 2020, Spike Chunsoft announced that they would take over English publishing of all Danganronpa games.[7] This included the digital PS4 version of 1.2 Reload, which Spike Chunsoft took over publishing for on March 28, 2021 following a brief outage.[8]
